In recent months, Dr. Patel has done fillings for me that make my teeth healthier & prettier (since he removed the silver-colored stuff used when I was a kid --- BTW that old material had mercury in it --- yikes!) He's replaced it with a safe & strong, white, natural-looking substance that ends up blending in perfectly with my real teeth. I tell all my friends to have their old mercury fillings replaced, and to go to Dr. Patel for it.

I am the biggest chicken when it comes to any kind of dental work to be done in my mouth. I really, really dread my visits to the dentist. Dr. Patel may have cured this anxiety for me! WOW, what an expeience my last visit was. I had to have a crown replaced (UGH!!) and he told me about the CEREC procedure. I still had that nervous dread but Dr. Patel's great bedside manner at once put me at ease. And Boy did he sure know his way around the whole software and procedure. I could actually watch him on the computer screen outlining what was to be my crown! That was quite impressive! And quick! Once th crown was done he popped it in no problem no pain no worries. I was able to make an appointment within 48 hours and when I arrived to the appointment time I did not have to wait more then 10 minutes be seen by him, Once I filled the paper work he was ready to make the x rays and a few minutes later I was told all the different options I had for my dental health care. I was surprinced to find out he could make the dental crowns I needed in a half an hour instead of having to wait the usual one weeks to have the crowns done. He was able to have my crowns in in one hour after I arrived to the clinic. The Crowns fit great, they look wonderful and I feel a lot better then when I arrived to his office. He did not fool to much with the crowns to make them fit with the other teeth. I have seen at least 20 dentists around and I can say he is the fastest, and best quelified dentist I have ever seen in my life.

Wow!, if you are looking for a dentist office with a professional and caring staff then this is it! The best thing about this office is the service that everyone provides, from the receptionist to the hygienist to Dr. Patel's assistant, this office staff made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked into their friendly environment! The receptionist has been incredibly helpful so far with insurance problems. Our insurance has been a major problem but they have been standing by us not making us feel like the bad guys at all when they havent even gotten paid what the insurance company said yet.

I chose Dr. Patel because his office was across the street from my work and because I read positive reviews about his practice. My first filling I used his video goggles. I didn't feel any pain actually I ended up laughing at the movie that I was watching. About a year ago I bumped my front tooth causing a fracture and an abscess. Dr. Patel went to the pharmacy by my house on a Friday night at 10 pm to get me a prescription for the pain. He extracted it and made sure I felt totally comfortable during the procedure. During the process of making my bridge he answered my many questions via email. I always felt he was honest with his answers and he always explained the advantages and disadvantages of my options. When I got my bridge, he made sure that I was completely happy with the color and that the bridge didn't affect my pronunciation -which was very important for me because I teach pronunciation. My boyfriend commented that loosing my tooth was a blessing in disguise because I ended up with a prettier smile than I had before. My family was amazed at the realistic appearance of the teeth. I was so worried about loosing my tooth but in the end Dr. Patel gave me very positive results, definitely something I can smile proudly about!

I learned about the dental genius; Dr Patel, from a good friend of mine so I thought I'll give him a try after many terrifying ordeals with dentists in my local area in San Francisco. I flew to Honolulu to see him for treatment. Unlike other dentists, He didn't go after my 4 wisdom teeth. I got five filings and cleaning done in one visit. That alone deserves praise. The staff are very professional and fun to be around.

Dr Patel's practice is very much like being in someone home with lots of natural light, sweeping city and ocean views, and warm furnishings to make you feel at ease. He will ensure that your procedure is painless and of the highest quality in the fastest possible time. The best part is that he does as much dental work in one visit so you don't have to keep going back. Dr Patel is a very nice and caring guy definitely worth traveling a thousand miles for from US Mainland.

We are new to the island and chose Dr. Patel for our dental needs based on reviews from this site. This morning we both had our routine cleaning, bite-wing xrays and exams. The staff is both pleasant and professional. The exam is thorough and Dr. Patel is a sweetheart (I can say this because I am old and been married for 40 years). We have received dental care in many different geographic locations, this experience ranks at the top. If you need a dental team to care for your needs we both highly recommend Dr. Patel's office.

Although our dental insurance is a new one to this group, they cheerfully offered to file the claims for us.

About Hygienist: Our cleanings were done by Kayla. She is a delight. First came bite wing xrays using the most up to date equipment - results are displayed on a computer screen immediately versus the need to develop films. The cleaning began with an electronic cavitron followed by use of the traditional dental picks. Gums are examined carefully and potential pockets are measured. Last came the polishing with dental paste followed by flossing. Kayla's technique results in a clean happy mouth. When you make your appointment you may want to ask for Kayla!

I recently started a treatment plan with Dr. Patel. In my first procedure I had had a tooth extracted and prosthetic tooth made for me. (Oct. 6, 2009) ($620) The extraction had my thinking the worse as far as pain goes, but Dr. Patel took it out with ease. Beside the intial slight pinch for anesthetic and some pressure it was completely pain free and quick. The prosthetic fits perfectly. I will be getting an implant placed in the future and will update on the success of the procedure. My second procedure was to have three root canals done and fillings placed. (November 10, 2009) ($765) Once again beside the slight pinch from anesthetic the procedure was pain free and only took 45 mins.

I highly recommend Dr. Patel. His office is great and overlooks the ocean. The service is wonderful, and the cost is not exorbitant.

The only negative I can see is that the are no weekend office hours. This doesn't affect me, but I know some people would like Saturday appointments.

About Hygienist: Kayla was wonderful. It was the end of the day, but she did not rush my cleaning. She is awesome at telling me what I need to do to keep my teeth clean without sounding preachy. Her kind and friendly personality definitely shines through in her work.

As a brand new Dr. Patel patient, I must say I was impressed with not only the location of his office (centrally located & very convenient, not to mention the glorious view)- but more so, his welcoming front-desk staff to the dental assistant and ofcourse Dr. Patel himself. Once again, I marvel at and appreciate Dr. Patel's artistic expertise in dealing with teeth that other dentists would not have been able to handle. Wow, where do i start? i had broken, missing and decayed teeth that were left. Yes, i never smiled to keep it all hidden for years. I went to a lot of dentist on the mainland, but hated every monent of it. I had root canals, extractions, bonding, you name it done. and it was all painful and yes, it all eventually broke off or fell out and i just quit trying. I went to one dentist in Hawaii to see what could be done, but the visit was very dry and the facilities and employees were ok at best. Correct, i never went back.

Then i found Dr. Patel. I scanned the internet for hours and something just seemed right for me and my needs. Jackpot, i hit a 777 winner. From the first visit i was sold. I had finally found the place for me. The Facilities and in-house equipment are first rate. The staff was wonderful. I hate to single out just one, but Heather the (hygienist) was great. Usually, i never went back after the first visit. But then i met Dr. Patel. He was straight forward and assured me that it is never to late or to much to do. Scheduled me in and did all in-house work in a couple of trips, that would normally take 8-10 visits from my past experience. I cannot help but like this guy. I spent two years of avoiding the dentist after being told I needed to get my gums scaled and roots of my teeth planed. Sounds horrible, and I probably would not have went into Dr. Patels office until I read about sedation dentistry on his website.

Upon showing up to his office on the day of the procedure the staff and Dr. Patel make me feel very relaxed. After spending about a hour in the dentist chair I wondered why I was so scared. Dr. Patel did a great job and the hour went by before I knew it.

I've had 3 visits with Dr. Patel so far and I must say I am extremely happy that I had found him. I have a complete fear of visiting the dentist so much that I became extremely picky and cautious resulting in changing dentist whenever I can think of a reason to.

I must say Dr. Patel is not only professional and knowledgeable, he is calming, caring and understanding of what I feel. During my four fillings this past visit, he made sure I was okay with every step. I was wearing the movie glasses and I must say was 99% distracted. My whole visit took less than 1 hour!!! My co-workers knew of my fear and asked me the next day how it went. They can all tell that I was very satisfied with the visit from the way I was raving about it.

The only negative thing I would have to say is that it was difficult to pay upfront at the time of the visit though they do send you an estimate before that day.

Dr. Patel took over the practice of my former dentist when she moved away. She'd already warned him what a challenging patient I am.

Having had a series of horrifying dental experiences in my early life (for instance, having been given blood poisoning by a dentist in the 1970s), I'm petrified - PETRIFIED - of all dentists. And yet, Dr. Patel has been extraordinary.

For instance, when I woke up one Saturday morning with a gum infection and had to catch a plane in 4 hours. He cheerfully and kindly came in to his office on his day off to help me (even though it meant putting his young son in day care for a while to help me).

And because he knows how frightening it is for me to visit his office, he does my periodic cleanings himself. (One less person for me to cry in front of.)

They just don't come any better than Dr. Patel.

I had 4 fillings put in. I rarely visit dentists because I have horrible experiences. This visit was unavoidable because I had a bad cavity. Dr. Patel was very reassuring and made me feel very comfortable. The procedures went well. The numbing took longer than anticipated to ware off. The cost was I was quoted was much lower than my previous dentist quoted me. The only downfall is that you do have to pay in full the day of the procedure. While I was having my teeth done I was able to watch a movie which was a great distraction. Dr. Patel uses a lot of new technology which is great to know he keeps up to date with what's out there.

He gave me a thorough explanation letting me know what it was exactly that he found and what I needed to get work done on first. So I came back for my fillings and had a great experience. Mahalo Nui Loa Dr. Patel for a great "PAIN-FREE" root canal therapy that was much needed after it was determined that tooth #12 was infected. I had been in pain for 2 days before I decided to see Dr. Patel and when I finally called for an appointment, the office staff was so accomodating in getting me in as soon as possible. I am very impressed with Dr. Patel's professionalism as well as his caring staff that you feel like "ohana" as soon as you walk through the front door. Dr. Patel is the only Dentist I know of that explained every bit of the procedure as he worked on me ... that alone showed me how much of a caring person he truly is. I was upset and in pain after a horrible experience with my previous dentist and called my sister to vent. She told me that she loved her dentist (Dr. Patel) and offered to call him. Dr. Patel personally spoke with me over the phone, asking my symptoms. At 5:00pm, he cheerfully offered to check out the painful tooth. I found out that I had to have a root canal and he immediately started working on the tooth and relieved my pain.

My friends, I practically fell asleep in the chair while having a root canal! Between Dr. Patel's comforting voice making sure that I was not experiencing any pain and the device that keeps my mouth open for me, I didn't have to do anything. I am also very impressed with his modern technology. Wait until you see the x-ray equipment! Less radiation and better for us.

He was very gentle with my teeth, so much that I was surprised nothing really even hurt when I had this elaborate dental procedure done last week!!
